Christopher “Chris” Lane has spent the last two decades leading a successful career as an attorney. Currently operating at his own practice in North Carolina, he largely focuses on such matters as workers’ compensation and personal injury. In his free time, attorney Christopher Lane is an avid runner. He has run more than 60 marathons in North Carolina and throughout the US, including the Flying Pig Marathon.
Established in 1997, the Flying Pig Marathon takes participants along the streets of Covington, Newport, Cincinnati, Fairfax, Mariemont, and Columbia Township in Ohio. Welcoming more than 36,000 individuals during the weekend, along with 6,000 volunteers and around 100,000 spectators, the event consists of a full and half marathon and several smaller events, including a 10k, 5k, and kids’ marathon. The full Flying Pig Marathon is a certified course and Boston Marathon qualifier.
The Flying Pig Marathon is open individuals who are at least 18 years old. While walkers are welcome to participate in the event, the course is only open for around seven hours. Participants who maintain a pace over 16 minutes per mile must move to the sidewalks after the course is closed to allow the streets to reopen. All marathon participants receive a shirt, premium bag, poster, and virtual goodie bag as thanks for their participation. Finishers will also receive a finisher’s medal, refreshments at the finish area, and a blanket.
